Both Sarah Blunden (General Manager at Wycombe Heights Golf Centre) and Stuart Perry (General Manager at The Shropshire Golf Centre) have been awarded the Club Manager’s Association of Europe’s (CMAE) highly regarded Club Management Diploma (CMDip). The qualification is awarded to those club managers who participate in the CMAE's Management Development Programme (MDP) Level One and Level Two courses, before submitting a work-based assignment for assessment. These accomplishments fall directly in line with BGL’s unwavering commitment to providing its teams with the best opportunities to develop their skills and enhance their CVs. The Group puts a huge emphasis on supporting the performance of its people and is constantly looking to improve overall performance by monitoring real time needs to set goals for the future. “The management development programme focuses on the core competencies of being a manager within the golf industry,” commented Blunden. “I am proud to be a part of a team of industry leaders who value the importance of ongoing professional development. This qualification has given me the tools to manage a successful and high performing team.” Perry added: “I really appreciate BGL for affording me the opportunity to complete this qualification. Several former colleagues had completed the CMAE course and recommended it. I feel that it validates and adds more credibility to my existing knowledge, which will help me as I strive to take The Shropshire along a road of continuous improvement.” Both Blunden and Perry will continue their CMAE qualification and progress to fully Certified Club Manager (CCM) status in the coming years. October will see the launch of ‘gamification’ which will reward team members with badges and points for certain training that they do – the first of which will be in connection with the initiative ‘Cybersecurity October’.
