NEW ERA BECKONS FOR LA HACIENDA AS LINKS COURSE OPENING DATE CONFIRMED
An opening date of Friday, July 15, 2022 has been confirmed for the reconfigured Links Course following a multi-million euro investment which will put La Hacienda on the map as a flagship 36-hole golf resort in southern Europe. A complete transformation and redesign of the original layout will be unveiled to golfers from across the globe, marking a significant milestone in La Hacienda’s elevation to a luxury golf destination. The resort is giving golfers the chance to become the first to play the reopened course, which is set to be one of the best and most picturesque courses in Spain, with a limited ‘earlybird’ green fee rate for bookings made directly through its website before Thursday, June 30, 2022. The offer can be redeemed by quoting the code ‘OPENING’ and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Located in the Cadiz municipality of San Roque, close to Sotogrande, the Links Course is considered one of the most exciting golf course projects in Europe and will run along the beachfront with spectacular views of the Mediterranean, Gibraltar and Africa. Spearheading the project to reconfigure and redesign the existing Alcaidesa Links is experienced course designer, Kurtis Bowman, with an aim of improving the hole layouts, conditioning, scenery and sustainability outcomes. Javier Illán, president of Millenium Hospitality, said: “The day we’ve all been waiting for! After much anticipation, we’re delighted to be able to finalise an opening date for our new Links Course and can’t wait to unveil it to the international golfing community. “So much work has gone into this project, both internally here at La Hacienda and through Kurtis Bowman and his team on the design, and we’re so proud of the outcome. There is nothing else like this in Spain and it will provide a unique and memorable experience to all players. We’re looking forward to welcoming you all to the south of Spain this summer.” A new contemporary clubhouse, driving range and practice area have already been completed ahead of the golf course relaunch, while the development of a five-star hotel with 150 rooms, halfway house with restaurant, 51 luxury villas and a beach club will mark the next phase of the project. New greenkeeping machinery, a state-of-the-art fleet of buggies and operating software will also be included within the investment to elevate the customer experience. • Golfers can redeem the ‘earlybird’ green fee rate on La Hacienda’s new Links Course by booking through www.alcaidesagolf.com before Thursday, June 30, 2022 and quoting the code: OPENING. This will activate 10 per cent off. Terms and conditions apply. ENDS Written and distributed on behalf of La Hacienda by Azalea.
