GolfBIC Is Heading On Tour! Introducing The New 2024 Sustainability Roadshow April/May 2024.
The focus is to explore ways in which we can collectively invest in golf's future by adopting sustainable operations. With sustainability becoming an indispensable aspect of various industries, it is essential that we, as golf industry leaders, prioritise environmental conservation and seek innovative ways to minimise our carbon footprint. The Roadshows will focus on promoting sustainable golf courses in the future and working towards operating a nett carbon-zero environment whilst creating awareness about sustainable practices within the golfing industry and to showcase the steps that golf courses can take to minimise their carbon footprint.
Presentations from leading bodies within the sustainability field will look into various subjects including sustainable turf management, renewable energy integration, waste management, water conservation, and more. Additionally, exhibitors from sustainable golf equipment manufacturers, environmental organisations, and golf course management companies will be present to showcase innovative products and services.

Richard Haygarth, Chairman of the UK Golf Federation and Owner of Maple Leaf Golf believes; "I would like to emphasize the significance of attending the 2024 GolfBIC Roadshows. These events will focus on operating golf facilities sustainably, a topic that is of utmost importance in today's world. Sustainability has become a key pillar in the golf industry, and it is crucial for golf course owners, managers, and professionals to understand its implications and implement sustainable practices. The GolfBIC Roadshows will offer a unique opportunity to learn from industry experts, share best practices, and gain insights on how to make our golf facilities more environmentally friendly and socially responsible. I am particularly excited about the partnership between the R&A Sustainability Team and GEO (Golf Environment Organisation) in supporting these roadshows. The collective knowledge and expertise of these organisations will undoubtedly provide invaluable guidance to golf stakeholders and encourage positive change within the industry. By attending the GolfBIC Roadshows, members will have the chance to network with like-minded golf course owners and operators, and is a fantastic platform to exchange ideas, collaborate, and collectively work towards a greener future for the game we love”.
