Longhirst Hall Golf Club

Two 18 Hole Par70 & Par72 Courses, Extensive Practice Facilities, Golf Academy

One of Northumberland’s best kept secrets is the breathtaking beauty of Longhirst Hall Golf Course. Scenic views and panoramic countryside make this an expansive Florida-style course with an elegant English touch – a unique concept. The course is sprinkled with lakes. Ducks, geese and swans share the surroundings with the golfers.

You can see the grounds of the old hall in the east and there’s Blueberry Wood in the north. In 1997 when The Old Course opened, 42,000 trees were planted. Since then a further 10,000 have been planted, adding to the landscape created in the design of the second course.

One Longhirst Hall Golf Club, boasting two beautiful but different courses, offering the challenge of the American style lakeland courses, coupled with the stunning surrounding of the Northumberland countryside.  Both courses have hosted the PGA Europro tour and feature the best in practice facilities with our new driving range, golf academy and teaching studio.

On 30th June 2003 Longhirst began operating two 18 Hole Courses, The Dawson Course and The Lakes Course. The 2 course layout runs from 01 April to 31 October each year, then we revert back to our original layout (The Old Course) from 01 Nov to 31 Mar.

Longhirst Hall Golf Course continues to mature and grow into what is now a first class golfing venue in the North East of England , and is a must play destination.

To further enhance the experience at Longhirst, in July 2006 we opened a new clubhouse which provides the ideal way to start and finish your round.

Courses

Tight fairways and an abundance of water make The Lake Course a test for even the best golfers. A thoughtful progression around the course is required. The par 3, 6th and the par 4, 17th are truly stunning holes.

The Dawson Course is a more relaxing round of golf but can still give a bite if you're not on your game.

Wider fairways and large greens are more forgiving but can make for the 3 putt!! Lakes and water features in abundance again.
