Ryston Park Golf Club

9 Hole Par70 Parkland Course

Situated in West Norfolk one mile south of Downham Market on the main Cambridge to Kings Lynn road is one of East Anglia's finest nine hole golf courses at Ryston Park. The golf course was constructed in 1932, designed by the late James Braid. The club itself was formed in 1933.

It is an attractive parkland course with excellent drainage and a great reputation for being in immaculate condition all year round, particularly the greens. It's fairly flat terrain is easy on the legs and the many trees and excellent views over the surrounding countryside make it an extremely pleasant and popular place to play golf. After a game you can enjoy the comforts and a warm welcome in the well-equipped clubhouse with a snack, a meal or just a drink.

Although, a nine hole course, every hole demands the greatest respect for the accomplished golfer. Many of the holes are shaped by superb mature trees which when in full leaf provide an additional challenge. There is also a number of water features on the course and some daunting shots to be played close to the out of bounds, so accuracy as well as good course management is essential.

Eighteen holes of golf at Ryston Park measures 6330 yards played from the white tee boxes with a par and standard scratch of 71. One of the toughest holes is the second, 436 yards with out of bounds and trees on the right and strategically placed bunkers on the left. A good drive will still leave a challenging second shot into a green protected by bunkers.

The best hole on the course is also the shortest. From the tee the 152 yard par 3 seventh hole is played over bushes and a lake, the green is protected by an overhanging tree on the left. If you come off of this green with a par and you should be well satisfied.

Come and play golf at Ryston Park, enjoy it and then come back and play again.
