Kirkistown Castle Golf Club

18 Hole Par69 Course, Pro Shop, Practice Ground, Practice Greens & Swing Net

With stunning views over the Irish Sea our Par 69 course offers golfers of all levels with the Best Value Golf Experience in Ulster (Golfers Guide to Ireland 2019).

The present course lay-out was designed by James Braid in 1934 and it has stood the test of time. The Course offers ‘The Open’ style of links golf where strategic play is a must in order to get close to the challenging course Par 69. With the quick-drying nature of our links terrain, the Course is rarely closed and offers members and visitors with a high quality, memorable golfing experience whether it's played in July or January.

The signature hole is the Par 4 10th; at 435 yards it is reputed to be one of the most difficult Par 4’s in Irish golf. With out-of-bounds along the left hand-side, subtle bunkering on the right and a majestic elevated green surrounded by whitethorn, gorse and links rough, it is a challenge to keep the ball in play never mind make par!

Stand on the elevated 3rd tee and marvel at the coast and countryside views around you, you will quite simply feel ‘King of the Castle’ from here with Kirkistown Castle itself rising to the sky close by.

The wonderful variety of holes will test every facet of your golf game and, being situated on the Irish Sea coast, wind is usually another ‘hazard’ to be added to those already on the course. Every day presents a new challenge so whether a first-time Visitor or a seasoned Member, you will enjoy a unique round every time you play here.

Course facilities also include a practice ground, two practice greens for pitching, putting green and swing net.

It is fair to say that Kirkistown Castle Golf Course is a jewel in the County Down crown of links golf; experience the magic that is Irish Links golf at its finest here.
