SPA – WHERE A GOOD WALK IS NEVER SPOILED!

Mark Twain once famously complained that golf was a good walk spoiled.

Obviously he had never played Spa.

Even when the game is not going entirely to the script this 6,500 yard, 18-hole Co Down parkland course is a fascinating challenge of both skill and strategy.

From the first tee box with a par 5 stretching into the distance and complicated by strategically placed fairway bunkers to the deceptively straightforward final par four 18th Spa is definitely not a place to take your eye off the ball or the terrain.

Birdie opportunities are tantalisingly on offer at the 2nd and 8th – both par threes – but danger lurks at these two locations on a course that will test the unwise or the unwary.

But despite the tests Spa can and will provide it is a beautiful, tranquil and well-presented golf course nestling in the heart of the famous Co Down drumlin country.

Panoramic views of the majestic Mourne Mountains are complimented by the abundance of native flora and fauna while the fascinating local wildlife often add to the natural attractions.

Spa Golf Club, just a mile from the centre of the ancient market town of Ballynahinch, will more than satisfy the most discerning player with all the modern amenities and facilities on offer.

A bright, modern Clubhouse complete with bar and restaurant provide the ideal retreat after your round of golf while our Head Professional Gary Wardlow will be available to sort out any of those little problems or niggles that may have occurred over the 18 holes.

Here at Spa our officers, members and staff are extremely proud of our reputation as a friendly, welcoming and accommodating Club - many individuals and Societies insist these are the reasons they keep returning year after year.

But don’t take our word for it!
