Childwall Golf Club

18 Hole Par72 Course, Pro Shop

Childwall is a testing 6600 yard parkland course, demanding accuracy from the tee.

Childwall presents a very tough test of Golf and can match any course in the area. The course is not undulating and is very pleasant to walk. However, some holes do rise and this can affect the run of the ball.

The course design was based on the recommendation of James Braid when the Club moved to its present excellent site at Gateacre in 1938. Over the years it has undergone some alterations, mainly to increase the length.

Childwall ranks with the very best of courses in this area of very fine Golf Clubs.

Childwall Golf Club, set in the Liverpool suburbs in close proximately to the major motorway M62/M57 junctions, is a stunning parkland golf course boasting some of the best greens and fairways in the North West of England. An interesting golf course with a good variety of holes including 4 par 3’s and 4 par 5’s, all in all a good test for golfers of all standards.

The course was established in 1912 designed by James Braid and measures 6227 yards from the yellow tees, whilst Childwall is not a tough walk, in fact quite flat, we do have a limited number of Buggies available for hire.

We are proud to host an annual World Amateur Golf Ranking Event, the Childwall Trophy. We hosted the Four Counties Junior Tournament in April 2016 following on from the very successful England Golf Northern Boys Championship held in 2012. In 2019 we hosted both Lancashire Men’s and Ladies team matches. In 2021 we will be hosts to the Lancashire County Championship.
