SITUATED IN THE HEART OF THE MIDLANDS

COVENTRY HEARSALL GOLF CLUB IS A PRIVATE MEMBERS CLUB, FORMED IN 1894 AND JUST A MILE FROM COVENTRY CITY CENTRE. IT IS AN ESTABLISHED GOLF COURSE STEEPED IN HISTORY WHICH DEMANDS ACCURACY AND THE USE OF EVERY CLUB TO SCORE WELL. NOT VERY MANY CLUBS CAN BOAST VISITS FROM AN OPEN CHAMPION (WALTER HAGEN IN 1933) AND AN ASSISTANT PROFESSIONAL BEING SELECTED FOR THE RYDER CUP (RALPH MOFFITT IN 1961), BUT COVENTRY HEARSALL CERTAINLY CAN.

OUR BEAUTIFUL MIDLANDS COURSE FEATURES CONTOURED FAIRWAYS, WELL-MANICURED GREENS AND A NUMBER OF MEMORABLE HOLES. THE 13TH IS A PARTICULAR FAVOURITE: A TREE-LINED HOLE THAT CAN BE DRIVEN BY THE LONGER HITTERS. IT IS GENERALLY PLAYED WITH AN IRON TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SLOPE SHORT OF THE BROOK, THEN A SHORT IRON TO THE GREEN WHICH RISES SHARPLY FROM THE FRONT TO THE MIDDLE WHERE IT FLATTENS OUT. THERE ARE GREEN-SIDE BUNKERS TO THE RIGHT BUT THIS IS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR A BIRDIE.

OUR COURSE

Coventry Hearsall Golf Club was first established in 1894 at Hearsall Common as a 9 hole course. Relocating to Beechwood Avenue in 1910 this parkland course has matured over the years into a tough but fair test to all levels of golfers, and is regularly used by the County for team matches.

Set in over 96 acres of land and just a mile from the city centre, the course attracts many visitors and societies from around the country. Currently a Par 70, 6123 yards long with an SSS of 71, the course has narrow fairways, tightly tree lined by well established trees which provides an enjoyable and interesting challenge for all golfers.

Our Head Green Keeper, Craig and his team work hard through the seasons ensuring we have a well manicured golf course, providing playable greens, approaches, and aprons throughout the year. This makes for enjoyable golf for our members and guests alike.

We have a state of art irrigation system, and a first class fleet of course equipment and machinery to offer a well presented and manicured course. We are proud to be widely recognized as one of the most mature, long standing, and highly respected courses in Warwickshire.

Practice Facilities

Here at Hearsall we have a practice area for our members and playing visitors to use. Our putting green, located near the first tee, is ideally placed to give players a chance to brush up on their putting skills before teeing off.

Alongside the 11th Tee we have a net for players to practice driving, a practice bunker, and a small practice green.
