Drax Golf Club

12 Hole Golf Course Supporting Full 18 Holes

The course at Drax was opened in 1990 as a 9-hole course, then with the addition in 2010 of 3 new holes, it became a 12-hole course that can support a full 18-hole round with ease.

Drax is a private course managed on a 'not-for-profit' basis that enables us to offer membership, with no joining fee, at an extremely economical rate.

Although the course is situated adjacent to the country's largest power station, it is set in a very attractive woodland area and during a round you will see a variety of wildlife.

The course is maintained by a team of greenkeepers under the direction of our Head Greenkeeper, who has made great improvements to the course since his arrival.

The layout of the course makes it manageable for a beginner, ideal for the casual golfer, but still offers a difficult challenge even for the more skilful players because of its narrow fairways and abundance of trees and hazards.

Members also benefit from the association with the Drax Sports & Social Club which provides excellent food and drink at very reasonable prices.

The club currently has over 200 members with a membership that is most welcoming, and has a particularly strong and friendly Seniors Section.

The club is currently seeking and encouraging new members, so why not pay us a visit to see for yourself the beautiful setting, excellent facilities, high standard of course maintenance and superb quality greens.
