Mardyke Valley Golf Club

18 Hole Par 70 Parkland Course, Driving Range, Putting Green

Mardyke Valley is a well-established Golf Club in South Ockendon, Essex, situated among 140 acres of glorious countryside, adjacent to the historic Ford Place.

Developed over more than 20 years and carefully designed for the members with their valuable input, this prestigious Golf Club has evolved from a 3 hole practice course to what we are today purely through passion for the game.

Our impressive 6201 yard, 18 hole parkland course maximises the potential of free draining land and various natural features to create some of the most challenging holes in the region, which continue to test players at every level all year round.

Massive investment in our drainage and irrigation systems allows us to stay open through drought and deluge, enabling our hardier members to play in even the toughest conditions.

Our greens, fairways, paths and trees are expertly maintained by a dedicated Course Director and his team to keep the golf course open 7 days a week, all year round – which adds even more value to our competitively priced annual memberships.

This magnificent par 70 Essex golf course is among the most picturesque in the County, with its environmentally protected areas and a huge variety of plants and wild life.

A wealth of mixed specimen trees, both young and mature, add dimension and character to the course with streams and lakes leading down to the River Mardyke.

The golf course is gaining a fine reputation, with the contours of the valley ensuring that golfers’ skills are tested to the full, especially at the 17th, our signature hole the ‘Watery Grave’, which is possibly one of the most charming golf courses in Essex.

Designed by our members, the layout of this testing course is excellent, with plenty of markers and directions to let you know where you are.

You are welcome to come up and practice on our real ball driving range or hone your putting skills on our practice putting green in front of the clubhouse.

Our greenkeepers are hard at work throughout the year with current machinery to ensure the course is kept in perfect condition.
