CHAMPIONSHIP COURSE OVERVIEW 

Glenbervie Golf Course in Stirlingshire has made its mark in Scottish Golf by holding some of the UK's most prestigious tournaments, and playing host to some of the world's top golfers. 

The course was designed by James Braid, who made use of the natural beauty, and native hazards, the parkland at Glenbervie provides. Against the backdrop of the stunning Ochil hills, he created an elite golf experience that is still enjoyed by professionals and amateurs alike over 80 years later. Few inland courses in the world offer such an incredible setting. The course is just moments from town, and only 30 minutes from both Edinburgh and Glasgow Airports, but you won't have any idea how close you are to civilisation when you are playing in the tranquillity of Glenbervie's parkland. Surrounded by an enormous variety of trees and flora, it's the perfect course to forget about your busy life and concentrate on your swing. 

The course has natural elevations and a challenging par of 71. The course record is currently held by Peter Maxwell who shot an astonishing 62 (9 under par) while playing in a club medal on May 13th 2015. This eclipsed by one shot the previous record of 63 jointly held by Peter McLachlan (playing in the 2005 Scottish Youths Amateur Stroke Play Championship) and Jamie Lynch (playing in the 2010 Stirlingshire Junior & Youth Summer Meeting). 

When you enter Glenbervie's course, you can't help but notice the 14th fairway, overlooked by the clubhouse and stretching out into the distance towards the Ochil hills. At 409 yards, played slightly uphill and generally against the wind, it is a great par 4. If the drive fails for any reason, forget par. The long second demands commitment and accuracy towards the flag on top of this sloping green. The course's infamous 9th, Bluebell Wood, is a 435 yard dog-legged par 4 demanding another uphill drive to land in a position heavily guarded by out of bounds in trees on the right, and with a view downhill to a sloping green.

Alongside our beautifully maintained championship course originally designed by James Braid, Glenbervie boasts a golfing academy facility allowing for a level and quality of practice unavailable at most driving ranges.

Overseen by our PGA Professional, the practice facilities and coaching available to Glenbervie Golf Club members are unparalleled in Central Scotland and a contributor to the incredible success of the Glenbervie mens and ladies teams, plus some of our individual members, many of whom have made an impact at a national level.
