Crook Golf Club

18 Hole Par70 Course, Pro Shop

The club was established in 1919 and has grown from humble beginnings to the excellent course and clubhouse you see today. The course offers challenges for all abilities of golfer and it prides itself on the challenge it presents. "Play golf at Crook and you can play anywhere in the county” is the cry.

Crook Golf Club welcomes visitors and member’s guests alike who wish to savour the experience of testing golf with its range of blind shots, tough carries, challenging bunkers and fast greens. The scenery around the course, from the hills of Durham, Land of the Prince Bishops, to the North Yorkshire hills has some really inspiring views.

We are a friendly and not overly formal club, welcoming both members and visitors during the week and at weekends, but we do insist on basic standards of attire which are detailed in the visitor’s section under "dress code”. If you wish to play then we recommend calling the Pro-shop beforehand who will advise you on suitable times to play. we do not operate a tee-booking system for casual golf and thus you will be advised a time window and on the day the pro-shop will provide more specific guidance.

Our greens team, led by head green keeper Geoff Morgan, present the course to a very high standard. The challenging hills, slopes and undulating fairways provide a natural challenge for the keen golfer.

We are very proud of the greens, albeit small; they are the envy of the county. The pace and consistency of the greens, combined with the natural slopes, make them interesting.

We are extremely pleased with the high standard of the course and our members and many visitors endorse these views.

The course measures 6,076 yards, par 70 for men and 5,048 yards, par 70 for ladies and is a fair and enjoyable test for any level of golfer.

Experienced pro shop staff and first class bar and catering staff ensure a warm welcome to Crook and that your day is always one to remember.
