Pyecombe Golf Club

18 Hole Par71 Course, Pro Shop

Pyecombe Golf Club is a marvellous venue for members, casual green fee players and Societies. It can also play host for various functions and activities.

Situated in the South Downs National Park, an area of outstanding beauty, the Golf Course offers stunning views across the Sussex Weald and is a haven for wildlife.

The course also offers 'a walk in the country' where natural flora is encouraged and there are regular sightings of deer, buzzards and other wildlife.

James Braid, the iconic golf architect, helped shape the course which was originally sculptured in 1894. Since that time, more land has been obtained providing additional length and opportunities to redesign the layout of the course.

Now, with the course measuring 6278 yards off the White tees, 5955 yards off the Yellow and 5559 yards off the Red tees, it is a good test of golf for all levels of ability. Undulating fairways, smallish greens and challenging dog legs, give ample opportunity to play most types of shots and to use most clubs in the bag.

In the summer, the course is beautifully presented with smooth running greens and manicured fairways. The rough becomes a picture of wild flowers, whilst good shots are always rewarded.

Pyecombe is truly a 12 months of the year golf club. In the winter the course rarely closes as the fairways drain naturally. It is rare for the Club to limit trolley use.

In 2016, Pyecombe were proud to receive the STRI National Environmental Golf Club of the Year award.  2013 saw the club achieve the 'Southern Counties Golf Club of the Year'. The judging panel noted 'the fantastic condition of the greens and fairways cut to perfection', also commenting ‘Pyecombe was the most picturesque course in the area whist providing an excellent venue'.
