Wrekin Golf Club

18 hole Par66 Course, Pro Shop, Practice Area
Wrekin Golf Club was established over a century ago in 1905.

Situated within the shadow of The Wrekin & adjacent to The Ercall above Wellington.

A truly picturesque golf course surrounded by natural woodland that benefits from spectacular & inspiring views across & beyond the North Shropshire plain.

A challenging but fair test to golfers of all levels.

A warm welcome is extended to new members, guests, visitors & societies alike.

The greens are in superb Summer condition with a speed of 9.5 to 9.8 on the Stimp meter.

Par 66, 5599 yards, those new to the course think it may be easy but as Shropshire professionals, including Ian Woosnam & Sandy Lyle & more recently Simon Wakefield have found it isn’t.

The course standard scratch of 68, 2 shots over the par also attests to the difficulty.

No hidden hazards, the difficulty comes from good golf course design & course management with a premium for being in the right place to attack the tricky greens.

The area, adjacent to the 2nd hole, is ideal for practicing chipping from the fairway or from rough lies, bunker play from shallow or deep bunkers & general iron play.

The area is 170 yards long & is complete with a proper green & other target flags.
Lessons can be undertaken here, on the large putting green outside Golf Reception or on the course itself.

There is also a new chipping area adjacent to the 1st tee.
